Our Coaching Philosophy

At the U10 level, I believe that coaching is both an art and a science. While utilizing scientific principles to support athletic development, I embrace the art of coaching to foster the innovation and motivation necessary for each individual athlete to thrive.

1. The "Will to Try" Over the "Will to Win"

We create "the will to try" rather than just the will to triumph. We focus on the "will to work hard" and the joy of the sport itself. It's about the importance of the process and the journey. We set ambitious goals, but without the fear of failure.

2. Character and Team Unity

Even though alpine racing is an individual sport, we prioritize a positive and cohesive team environment. We foster team unity through core values of Loyalty, Integrity, and Respect—the foundation of our team culture.

We are Family: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. Mutual support is mandatory; demeaning behavior is never tolerated.

3. Safety and Fun

The well-being of our athletes is our highest priority. We are committed to practicing Proactive Safety and are relentless in our pursuit of fun and shared experiences.

As ambassadors for TSSC, we remain respectful, responsible, and passionate leaders within our community.

The Pyramid of Success

Hover over each building block to see how Coach Wooden's legendary principles apply to our daily training on the mountain. True success is peace of mind, knowing you made the effort to do your best.
